2010 Biggest renewable energy projects

2010 was record breaking year for renewable projects.in almost every week a new project was announced.top projects announced were explained below.

Hydro:

south Asia largest hydro power plant started its operation in 2010.First of six turbines at Vietnam’s Son La station was connected to main power grid station Second largest project that went online was in Laos.perhaps it was the largest plant in the history of the country.the plant produces 1070 MW Next in line was Brazil,s 855 MW plant.it started its operation in October. Another large project was of 460MW Beles in Ethiopia.

Offshore wind:

the largest offshore wind project is owned by United Kingdom.It is the world largest wind project till now known as wind  form project.

It has capacity of about 300MW and worth of 1.2b$. Next in line is Rødsand II, a 207-MW extension of an existing wind farm in Denmark Lastly, the Gun fleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm, a 172-MW wind farm 7 km off the Clapton-on-Sea and Holland Essex coast in the Northern Thames Estuary….still updating!!!
